Frequently asked
Real answers, no hedging.
The questions we get most. If yours isn’t here, call or text Glenn, usually a 12-minute reply.
General
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. CW Services LLP carries a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License, a Home Improvement Contractor registration, $2M general liability, and workers compensation on every employee. We can email proof in about 30 seconds.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Glenn does the walk-through himself and writes the estimate the same week. Usually the same day for smaller jobs. No charge. No pressure.
How do I get a quote?
Call or text Glenn at (774) 623-9476, or fill out the free-estimate form on this site. We typically schedule the walk-through within 3–5 business days.
Where do you work?
Taunton (home base), Brockton, Attleboro, Norton, Mansfield, Easton, Raynham, Middleborough, Bridgewater, Dighton, Berkley, Somerset, Rehoboth, and Seekonk. If you are slightly outside, ask. We travel for the right project.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We pull every permit, schedule every inspection, and meet inspectors on site. Your only paperwork is the contract.
What is your warranty?
Every project we do carries a written one-year workmanship warranty. Manufacturer warranties on cabinets, appliances, and finishes pass through to you.
How do I pay?
A schedule of payments is part of every contract. Typically a deposit at signing, progress payments at milestones, and a hold-back due at handoff. We accept check, ACH, and credit card (with a small processing fee).
Who is on the crew?
Glenn's full-time crew is 4–6 people depending on the season, the same faces you see every day. We bring trusted electrical and plumbing partners for licensed work; never day-laborers off Craigslist.
Kitchen Remodeling
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
A typical full kitchen runs 4–8 weeks from demo to handoff. Cabinet-only refreshes are usually 5–10 days. We give you a written schedule before we start and update it weekly.
Will I have a working kitchen during the project?
We set up a temporary kitchen — usually fridge, microwave, and a sink in the basement or dining room — so meals stay manageable. Most families don't eat takeout for the whole project.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. We pull every permit, schedule every inspection, and meet the inspector on site. Your only paperwork is signing the contract.
Can I supply my own cabinets or appliances?
Absolutely. Many clients buy appliances directly from the manufacturer or pick a cabinet line they've researched. We coordinate delivery dates so nothing sits in your garage for weeks.
What does it cost?
A refresh of a 10x12 kitchen with mid-grade cabinets runs $18–$28K. A full reno with custom cabinets and quartz tops in a larger space runs $45–$75K. We give you a real number, not a range, after a 30-minute walk-through.
Bathroom Remodeling
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A standard hall bath runs 2–4 weeks. A primary bath with custom tile and glass usually runs 4–6 weeks. We give you a written schedule and a daily 'where we are' update.
Do you waterproof to current code?
Yes. Schluter Kerdi or equivalent on every wet wall, with curb and pan tested before tile goes down. We can show you the membrane before it disappears.
Can you fix the ventilation while you are in there?
If your fan is undersized or vents to the attic, we'll swap it for a quiet, properly sized unit and run it to the soffit or roof. It's the cheapest upgrade you'll be glad we made.
What if there is rot or mold behind the tile?
We expect it. Most older showers have something. We document with photos, get you a written number for the additional work, and don't proceed without your sign-off.
What does it cost?
A vanity-and-tile refresh runs $9–$14K. A full hall bath gut is $18–$28K. A primary bath with custom shower, niches, and glass is $30–$45K.
Basement Renovation
How long does it take?
A typical 800 sqft finish runs 6–10 weeks. With a bathroom and bar, plan on 10–14 weeks.
How do you handle moisture?
We assess first. If there is active water, we recommend a drainage system before we frame. We will not bury moisture behind drywall.
Can you add a bathroom if there is no drain below the slab?
Yes. Saniflo or similar up-flush systems work well. We'll show you the trade-offs (slightly louder, slower flush) so you can choose.
What does it cost?
A simple open finish (insulation, drywall, paint, carpet, electrical) runs $25–$45K. With a half-bath, $45–$65K. Full reno with bar and full bath, $65–$95K.
Interior Painting
What paint do you use?
Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore. Usually Emerald or Aura. We do not save money on the can.
Do you spray cabinets?
For cabinet doors, yes, sprayed in a controlled area for an even finish. Boxes are brushed-and-rolled in place. The two methods together yield the cleanest result.
How long does a whole-house paint take?
A 2,000 sqft house with all walls, ceilings, and trim runs 7–12 days. Single rooms are 1–3 days.
What does it cost?
A single bedroom is $1,500–$2,500. A whole-house interior is $7K–$15K depending on trim work and ceiling condition.
Exterior Painting
How long does it take?
A typical 2,000 sqft house with full prep runs 5–8 working days, weather permitting.
What if there is rot?
We document, give you a written number for repair, and roll it into the schedule before paint goes on.
How long will the paint last?
On properly prepped wood with premium paint, 8–12 years on body, 6–8 on south-facing trim. We give a written workmanship warranty.
What does it cost?
Trim-only refresh runs $4K–$7K. Full exterior on a 2,000 sqft house with proper prep runs $9K–$18K.
Flooring
How long does install take?
A 600 sqft hardwood install runs 4–6 days. Refinishing runs 3–5 days plus dry time.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes, depends on the substrate and ceiling height. We will tell you when it makes sense and when it does not.
Will refinishing be dusty?
Less than you expect. We use dust-containment sanders and seal off rooms. Plan to be out of the house for finish coats.
What does it cost?
LVP starts around $5–$8/sqft installed. Hardwood install is $9–$14/sqft. Refinishing existing hardwood is $4–$6/sqft.
Home Renovation
Do you handle architectural drawings?
For additions and structural changes, yes. We work with a regular architect partner or your own architect.
Can you live in the house during a whole-home reno?
For phased projects, often yes — we can isolate one zone at a time. For full guts, no.
What does it cost?
Whole-home cosmetic renos start around $45–$80K. A full-gut reno with mechanical and addition can run $200K–$350K. Real number after a walk-through.
Home Repair
Is there a minimum charge?
$300 minimum for a service call, covers travel, the first hour, and basic materials.
Can you come this week?
Usually yes. Repair work is scheduled around larger projects, so the day depends on the week, but most repairs happen within 5 business days.
What does it cost?
Hourly is $95/hour after the first hour, plus materials. A typical drywall patch and paint runs $300–$500. A door rehang and trim repair is $400–$700.
Commercial
Are you licensed and insured for commercial work?
Yes. Full GC license in MA, $2M general liability, workers comp on every employee.
Can you work off-hours?
Yes. Most of our restaurant and retail work is overnight or Sunday.
What does it cost?
Office paint runs $5–$15K. A small office build-out is $30–$80K. Restaurant kitchen build-outs run $80–$150K.
Ready to talk through your project?
Free estimate. Written same week. Glenn walks the project, Megan handles scheduling. No pressure, no salesperson.
